The Role of Discipline in Achieving Success


Discipline plays a very important role in our life. Without discipline, humans are like misguided missiles and are not able to use their full potential. Whenever we see successful people, and try to understand their biography, we find one very common behaviour in all successful people is their discipline habit, they are not successfu because they have something extraordinary, but they know how to do things in a disciplined manner. Becoming disciplined is one of the toughest task because our mind resist to do things in a planned manner. Our mind need full freedom to choose the task, which task is done at which time is totally depend on how our mind accept to complete that task. Discipline is nothing but a exercise of a mind. To train your mind to follow or develop a discipline habit, you should follow some points that I mention below:


1. Break your day schedule

2. Give priority to work based on its urgency

3. Assign a specific time to a specific activity

4. Try to complete the task within a predefined time

5. Give rewards and punishments to yourself


Lets discuss every point one by one


First, we should break our complete day schedule into smaller tasks, it help in clarity of thought. It also increase productivity because you light-up your brain by just breaking a complete day schedule into hours. 


Giving priority to task according to their importance and urgency also help you to finish most important work or task first, before any other or less important task are completed. 


Assigning time according to the task, helps you to utilize your time. It leads to full utilization of time.


Put all efforts to complete the task within the predefined time, you feel productive when you complete your task on time.


In the last give rewards if you completed all your task, and if you miss any task then punish your brain, Reward and punishment gives your mind a signal that if it works properly and focus on the completing the task it will get rewarded, but if it does not then it will get punishment, when It come into habits your mind automatically avoid distraction and improving focus and retention. 


By following all the above steps, it helps you become disciplined, and your mind gets rewired for accepting the pain of discipline and avoiding distractions.
